Kasun Janith Chathuranga

Kasun Chathuranga is an experienced hospitality finance and operational professional with a deep-rooted passion for education and empowerment. As a Chartered Accountant finalist from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, his career has been marked by a relentless pursuit of excellence and a commitment to applying financial principles to drive growth and success.

His journey began at Brandix Lanka Apparel and was forged in the demanding world of Big Four accounting with Ernst & Young in the Maldives, where he specialized in the hospitality sector. This international experience honed his skills in auditing, financial planning, and management, providing him with a unique global perspective on business operations.

Kasun's leadership capabilities were further solidified in senior roles such as Head of Finance for Six Senses Hotels Resorts & Spas in Kuwait and as a Pre-Opening Finance Controller and General Manager for several luxury hotels in the Maldives and Sri Lanka. A significant highlight of his career was serving as the Cluster Finance Controller for East Africa (Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda) with The Sands Kenya, where he managed complex financial operations across multiple countries.

Today, he leads Solid Home Appliances, a company offering innovative cooling solutions like ACs, demonstrating his versatility and entrepreneurial spirit. It is this blend of rigorous financial training, international business experience, and a forward-thinking mindset that he now brings to the Golden Flame's "Flame of Knowledge" initiative, starting with a project to support the next generation of business students in his home country of Sri Lanka.
